Sandy was born and raised in Northern California.  He has been married for over 30 years and has an adult son and daughter. He earned a BS Material Science Engineering Degree at UC Davis, and a MS Material Science Degree at UCLA.  Sandy worked as a Silicon Valley engineer in research on thin film development. Following engineering, he switched his focus to real estate.  Sandy bought deserted foreclosures and remodeled them to bring them to their fullest esthetic potential.  He also worked with new construction in both single family and multifamily.

 

Sandy loves the Mountains.  He started backpacking in high school with the Sierra Club.  That introduction grew to climbing dozens of peaks in the Sierra, rock climbing in Yosemite, climbing Denali in Alaska and starting and running his own mountaineering school, Sierra Adventures.  Running, biking and climbing is still part of his life.

In 2022, Sandy volunteered for the Forward Party in order to bring a new political party with new perspectives to California.  Sandy feels our political process is broken.  Here in California our politics often bring only one perspective and that has handicapped us from solving difficult issues such as housing, homelessness and transportation.
